A combined event to celebrate valentines day and national nest box week! Give two love birds a safe home to rear their chicks this summer by making your very own wooden nest box to put up in your garden.
Saturday 16th February - 10am-12pm - £10 per nest box PLEASE BOOK & PAY BY BACS (info at payment screen)
A nest box to observe in your garden will bring privileged entertainment...
Watch the drama unfold as wild bird romances (and spats) blossom before your very eyes! When do they commit to moving in together? Who will be setting up home in your box? What materials will they use to line their nest?
Then there's the chicks....How many chicks will they have? How will they feed them? What will they feed them? Who does most of the work?! How many chicks will fledge?
Oh the observations and fun to be had watching a family of birds over a summer is endless, especially for children who of course can take away many a life lesson by watching nature!
All materials and tools will be provided to make your bird nest box, and also the opportunity to make bird nest helpers using willow and natural wool.
Suitable for ages 5 plus (younger siblings always welcome to come play but may not be able to use tools)
