Home Ed in the woods

Nature-based sessions for children aged 5-12

Monthly sessions exclusively for home educating families in Dorset.

Sessions are nature-based taking place in a lovely little wood at the magnificently wildlife rich Stanpit Marsh, and follow the forest school ethos, where the child's learning is predominantly led by them and working with the seasons.

For example spring may see us exploring the new beginnings of flora and fauna in the area, and so we may learn about the bird species we are seeing or hearing, and the plants that are emerging or the trees coming into leaf.

Activity examples include woodwork, den building, foraging, natural crafts, bird watching, bug hunting, plant dyes, fire lighting, camp fire cooking and everything else in between!

This is a relaxed, informal group with like-minded families attending and you and your family will be most welcome to join in the fun and adventure we have together!
